Parameters

Set |nocat=true if you do not want the Category:Disambiguation to be set. You would do this, for instance, if {{disambig}} were used on a talk page mentioning the usage (or lack of usage) on the main article page. The usage would then be {{disambig|nocat=true}}.

{{Disambiguation}}

Disambiguation category

The {{disambig}} template is placed at the bottom of articles which exist to help readers find other articles with similar names (or which perhaps should have the same name). This concept is called disambiguation.

Disambiguation is used with common words such as crossWikipedia Logo.png, lifeWikipedia Logo.png, and workWikipedia Logo.png.

This is the most general-purpose disambiguation template; consider using a more-specific alternative if one exists, such as

  • {{Hndis}}, for people's names
  • {{geodis}}, for place names

This template automatically adds articles to Category:Disambiguation.

For those who can't remember the name

For those who can't remember how the name is abbreviated both {{Disambiguation}} and {{dab}}, are "synonyms".
