This is a documentation subpage for Template:Delete

Use the {{Delete | Reason=rationale for deletion}} template to flag a page that should be deleted. Pages flagged for deletion may be seen under Category:Delete.

This template is in the family of Help:Templates/Banner templates
Usage
The template has two use cases. The use case we ask everyone to use is to include a reason for why the page can be deleted. It takes the form:
You may also add a date parameter so it is clear how long a page has been flagged for delete, but it does not change the output of the template.
The second use case eliminates the reason and creates a generic delete banner. Using this second option should be reserved for a last resort as including a reason is an important piece of conveying to the gardeners why the page can be deleted.
